[수완뉴스=김동주 기자] The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education (Superintendent Neung Ho Shin) will start operating spring school on May 5th. The first semester of this year’s spring school, which covers 84 schools, will be expanded to all elementary schools in the province within the year.
To ease the administrative work of the 84 elementary schools that will be implemented first, and to establish an operating system that is separate from teachers, the DOE has completed the deployment of 80 temporary teachers, and four more will be deployed after additional announcements.
In addition, the schools operating the first semester of the expanded spring school will provide free two-hour daily customized programs for first-graders. The DOE said that as a result of the first demand survey conducted non-face-to-face, 59.9 percent of the new students applied for the program, and the development of customized programs for elementary school 1 and securing space have been completed, and the demand is expected to fluctuate through entrance ceremonies, parent briefings, etc.
Regarding the operation of the new schools, Superintendent Neuho said, “We will actively support the stable establishment of new schools that provide quality education programs through school-community partnerships in accordance with the state’s responsible education care policy.”
In addition, the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education said that if there are additional students who wish to participate in the school even after the school year has started, it will accommodate them by securing additional space and programs.
In addition, today, the day the school starts, Superintendent Shin Shin-ho plans to visit Master Elementary School to check the progress of the school and look into areas that need additional support, and the operation of out-of-school spring centers such as the Hwacheon Community Center in cooperation with local governments in the province, the privately commissioned spring center in cooperation with universities in Wonju Enterprise City, and the ‘Seowonju Village’ spring center.
On the other hand, ‘Nilbom School’ is a comprehensive education program that connects various educational resources in schools and communities outside of regular classes to provide for student growth and development, and is operated as a single system by integrating and improving existing elementary care classes and after-school programs.
