Application Period for the 2026 Academic Year Regular Admissions Opens

[Suwan News = Reporter Kim Dong-ju] Ahead of the application period for the 2026 academic year’s regular admissions, which begins on the 29th, the Korean Council for University Education urged prospective students to register for a unified account on the Common Application Portal and complete their applications in advance.

Four-year universities will accept applications during the regular admissions period by selecting one of three application groups, while junior colleges have until January 14 of next year.

Prospective students can check in advance whether they have registered for a unified account and completed the common application form before the regular admissions application period begins.

If you have the member information and common application form you submitted for the early admission round, you can reuse them; however, applicants who did not submit these for the early admission round must register for a unified membership and complete the common application form in advance.

If you sign up as a unified member through either UwayApply or JinhakApply, you can apply to all universities that accept applications through an agency.

Test-takers should check in advance to ensure they can access the application service provider’s website without any issues on their computer. If they are unable to access the website smoothly, they should contact the provider’s call center.

When completing the Common Application, log in using the integrated member account you created earlier, fill out all sections of the Common Application without omission, and when entering your refund account information, be sure to provide a valid account number that will be accessible at the time the university issues the refund.

Once completed, the Common Application can be reused when applying to multiple universities of your choice, and you can also edit it before submitting. The Common Application can be exchanged between application service providers using the “Export” or “Import” functions. In particular, please note that you must click the “Export” button after editing and saving the Common Application for the changes to be applied to other service providers.

After selecting the universities you wish to apply to, check to see if there are any changes to be made to the common application section, fill out any additional information required by each university—such as application details and a photo—and save your changes. You can then choose to pay the application fee individually or as a bundle and complete the payment.

The Korean Council for University Education urged, "For each individual computer environment, users should check in advance for any errors—such as whether the common application service is functioning properly—and, when using PCs in public places, take care to avoid any issues during the application process caused by installation errors or similar problems."

Regarding the regular admissions process for the 2026 academic year, the university announced that students who wish to submit their application materials (high school transcripts) online must apply before submitting their application.

Eligibility is limited to graduates from the 2004 academic year (February 2005 graduates) through the 2020 academic year (February 2021 graduates), covering a total of 17 academic years.

The online application period for high school transcripts for the regular admissions cycle runs from December 16 through December 31 at 6:00 p.m. Eligible applicants must "complete their application via the application system (apply.neis.go.kr) within this period."Applicants must complete their application within the specified period via the “School Transcript Application Service for College Admissions.”

Meanwhile, the "University Admissions Information Portal Eodiga," which was established to allow students to access college admissions information in one place, announced that it is providing details on key information for each university regarding the 2026 academic year's regular admissions cycle.

Using the “Where to Go” college admissions information portal’s services—which provide last year’s admissions results and grade calculation tools—you can assess which colleges you’re eligible to apply to, quickly get answers to your questions through online counseling, and find college admissions-related information on platforms such as the “Where to Go TV” YouTube channel.

In addition, the Korea University Admission Council’s Admissions Counseling Center announced that it will offer intensive counseling to assist students with their college applications ahead of the regular admissions application period. The intensive counseling for regular admissions will be available throughout the regular admissions period, providing free counseling services via phone and online from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
