[Suwan News = Reporter Kim Dong-ju] The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Youth Activity Promotion Center (Director Kang Seok-yeon) held the “2025 Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Youth Award Ceremony” in Hoengseong on the 29th.
The awards ceremony is an event that recognizes the achievements of young people who have met their goals in four areas—self-development, physical fitness, volunteer work, and exploration—and celebrates their challenges and growth.
The Youth Achievement Award Program is designed to help young people discover their potential and learn practical life skills through self-directed activities. It is divided into the International Youth Achievement Award (for ages 14–24) and the Youth Self-Challenge Award (for ages 7–15), and the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Youth Activity Promotion Center serves as the provincial administrative office.

Approximately 140 youth, leaders, and parents from across the province attended the awards ceremony, where the youth were presented with certificates and medals. Awards were also presented to outstanding leaders and outstanding program organizations. Jin In-soon, a counselor at Geundeok Youth Cultural Center, and Lee Eui-jun, a counselor at Wonju City Youth Training Center, were selected as Outstanding Counselors, while the Sindong Da-hamkke Care Center and Yeongwol County Youth Cultural Center were selected as Outstanding Activity Organizations and received the Chairman’s Award from the Korea Youth Activity Promotion Institute.
The presentation on outstanding youth participants was led by Kim Ye-won from the Dogye Youth Scholarship Center and Park Woo-seul from the Yeongwol County Youth Cultural Center. Both achieved the remarkable feat of receiving the Minister of Gender Equality and Family Award at the 2025 Youth Awards Program’s Outstanding Case Competition, organized by the Korea Youth Activities Promotion Institute. Kim Ye-won said, “This result is all the more meaningful because it was made possible by the support of those around me.”
Park Woo-seul said, "Based on this experience, I want to share the joy of growth with more young people."
Center Director Kang Seok-yeon said, “The awards ceremony is not merely an occasion to receive an award for achieving a goal; it is a moment that marks the culmination of our efforts and a crucial step toward the future,” adding, “I hope today’s achievements will lead to even greater challenges tomorrow.”
