[Suwan News = Reporter Kim Dong-ju] The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Youth Activity Promotion Center held its steering committee meeting for the second half of 2025 in Wonju on the 10th.
At this meeting, the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Youth Activity Promotion Center established its status as a hub for implementing local youth policies and laid the groundwork for carrying out its operations in a more systematic and efficient manner. The meeting also provided an opportunity to transparently review the Center’s key operational achievements and project progress for 2025, and to share these results—along with areas for improvement—with the committee members. Furthermore, by sharing the Center’s mid- to long-term development strategy and key project plans, the meeting highlighted the Center’s operational efficiency and public service mission.
At the meeting, various opinions were put forward to revitalize youth activities, including establishing the center’s role and enhancing its standing through the development of region-specific programs, and expanding educational support for agency staff by assisting with the operation of field internships (which have been mandated as essential for enhancing professionalism when obtaining a youth counselor certification).
The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Youth Activity Promotion Center plans to review the various opinions expressed by the Steering Committee and continue its efforts to promote youth activities.
Meanwhile, attendees at the Steering Committee meeting in the second half of this year included Center Director Kang Seok-yeon, Gangneung Branch Director Kim Ji-young, Team Leader Kim Hee-jin of the Provincial Women, Youth, and Family Division, Director Song Su-kyung of the Character and Life Education Division at the Provincial Office of Education, Professor Kim Jun-young of Daewon University, Kim A-ram, Team Leader at the 2018 PyeongChang Commemorative Foundation; Jeong Dong-won, Branch Manager of G1 Broadcasting’s Yeongseo Branch; Professor Park Chang-woo of Catholic Kwandong University; and Seong Hyun, Principal of Jin-gwang High School.
