[Suwan News = Official Press Release] Suwan News (CEO Kim Dong-ju), a media outlet for teenagers and young adults, is recruiting three “Senior College Student Editors” to oversee the editing of new media content until October 31. Applications will close early once all positions are filled.
The Senior College Student Editor is responsible for adapting and editing a single story to suit various new media channels. They transform a single article or story into formats such as card news, short-form video scripts, social media posts, and blog posts, and plan headlines, summaries, structure, and images while taking into account the different audiences for each channel. After distributing the content to each channel, the editor analyzes audience reactions and incorporates this feedback into future projects. The editor also consults with the editorial department to determine which topics to adapt and the distribution schedule.
Eligibility is limited to young people aged 40 or younger who are currently enrolled in college or graduate school. Preference will be given to applicants who can use the WordPress Block Editor and generative AI, or who are proficient in image and video editing tools such as Canva, Photoshop, and mobile video editing apps. You can apply even if you have no content editing experience, though experience as a college reporter is a plus. Even if you are currently employed elsewhere, you may participate as long as your employer permits you to hold a second job.
To apply, log in with your Suwan News account, apply to become a local curator, and then submit articles as you wish. Successful candidates will be announced following individual interviews. Applications are accepted only on an individual basis.
The program lasts one year and may be extended. Participants receive feedback and mentoring from the editorial team throughout the program, and those who complete at least one-fourth of the program will receive a certificate of participation. Outstanding participants will be awarded a certificate of merit and featured on the main website. Content they create will remain under their own name and can be used as part of their portfolio.
