Starting this October, the Sammaru Library in Wonju will launch “Digital Creative Journey: Won.The.Pl.”, a program designed to explore the region’s cultural heritage in depth and translate that exploration into creative activities.
“One.The.Pl.” is short for “Get to Know Wonju Deeper Plus (+).” It is a creative, interdisciplinary program that combines lectures, field trips, and creative activities centered on Wonju’s cultural heritage sites to deepen participants’ understanding of the region’s cultural heritage.
This program for adults will be held every Saturday from October 12 to November 16, for a total of six sessions. After attending lectures and taking field trips to explore the history and cultural significance of the Gangwon Provincial Government Office, participants will create literary and artistic works using watercolor calligraphy, and the finished pieces will be exhibited.
Applications for the program will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, via the Sammaru Library website (lib.wonju.go.kr/sm).
A library official said, “We hope this will provide an opportunity for citizens to experience local cultural heritage in a new way, broaden their understanding of the region, and spark an interest in literary and artistic creation.”
