[Suwan News = Reporter Kim Dong-ju] The Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Youth Activity Promotion Center (Director Kang Seok-yeon) held a meeting of the heads of youth training facilities in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province and a briefing on the Center’s projects for 2026 on the 11th.
This meeting was organized with the aim of revitalizing youth activities in the region and strengthening the foundation for inter-organizational collaboration and cooperation. It was attended by 23 directors from 21 youth training facilities across the province, as well as Lee Won-young, President of the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Youth Training Facilities Association.
During the first part of the project briefing session, the Center’s Planning and Operations Team, Program Cooperation Team, Program Safety Team, and Gangneung Branch shared their key project directions and implementation plans for 2026. Through this, they strengthened the cooperative framework with youth training facilities across the province and laid the groundwork for program operations that reflect on-site needs.
During the second session—the heads of agencies meeting—that followed, in-depth discussions were held on current issues, including: ▲ the need for coordination and consultation to improve working conditions for youth counselors; ▲ sharing the current status of operations following the mandatory implementation of field training for youth counselors; and ▲ measures for coordination and cooperation between nature-based training facilities and community-based training facilities. The attending heads of organizations reached a consensus on the need to establish a practical, field-oriented cooperation system.
The Center expects that this meeting will help solidify the network among youth training facilities in the province and contribute to the revitalization of youth activities by strengthening information sharing and mutual support systems among operating organizations.
Kang Seok-yeon, Director of the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Youth Activity Promotion Center, stated, “We will strive to improve the quality of youth activities through ongoing communication and cooperation with youth training facilities within the province.”
