The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (Superintendent Ahn Min-seok) will open the parking lots of its affiliated educational institutions and schools free of charge to provide parking convenience for visitors returning to their hometowns and local residents during the Chuseok holiday.
The free admission period runs for four days, from Thursday, September 24—the start of the Chuseok holiday—through Sunday, September 27. Approximately 1,500 facilities will be open to the public, including the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, its directly affiliated agencies, regional education support offices, libraries, training centers, and other educational institutions under its jurisdiction, as well as schools throughout the province. Opening hours will be flexibly adjusted based on the specific circumstances of each school or institution, and some facilities will remain open all day.
Information on the locations of free public parking lots will be available starting in the afternoon of the 23rd—the day before the holiday—via “Gongyunuri” (a public resource sharing service for all citizens), as well as Naver Maps, KakaoMap, T Map, iNavi Air, and Hyundai Motor Navigation.
Parking lot users must leave their contact information on the front of their vehicles in case of an emergency. Additionally, since they are using educational facilities such as schools, they must take special care to prevent accidents involving students and comply with the rules of use, including refraining from damaging facilities and littering.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education plans to open parking spaces at educational institutions and schools during the Chuseok holiday to alleviate parking difficulties for travelers returning to their hometowns and local residents, and to continue practicing open educational administration by sharing educational facilities with the local community.
