Wonju City will host the “2026 Wonju SME Excellence Product Expo” for three days, from October 2 to 4, in the area around Wonju Youth Plaza.
Sixty small and medium-sized enterprises and organizations from Wonju City are participating in this expo, operating a total of 76 booths. Visitors can discover a wide variety of high-quality products representing Wonju—including food, beauty products, and household goods—all in one place, and some items are available at prices up to 69% lower than retail prices.

This year, the expo will go beyond simply displaying and selling products; it will be organized as a citizen-participatory event where visitors can linger and enjoy a variety of programs together. In addition to the “Air Bounce Kids Zone” for families, the expo will feature children’s economic education programs in collaboration with the Future Growth Education Center, as well as an economic flea market.
In addition, the city plans to host a variety of programs—including impromptu guerrilla events, the Wonju No. 1 Cooking Contest, and a children’s talent show—to encourage citizen participation and provide plenty of attractions and entertainment.
In addition, Wonju City is promoting support for TV home shopping broadcasts to help participating companies expand their sales channels. The city plans to showcase products from outstanding food companies—selected through a preliminary evaluation—nationwide via TV home shopping during the expo, thereby supporting local companies in promoting their products and expanding their sales channels.
The expo’s opening ceremony will take place at 2:00 p.m. on October 2 on the main stage at Youth Plaza. With the Mayor of Wonju, heads of relevant organizations, and local business leaders in attendance, the event will feature an opening performance and celebratory shows.
Kim Kyung-mi, head of the Business Support and Employment Division in Wonju City, said, “This expo was organized to introduce Wonju’s outstanding small and medium-sized enterprise products to citizens, expand market opportunities for these businesses, and revitalize the local economy.” She added, “I hope families and neighbors will visit the expo together to purchase excellent local products at reasonable prices and enjoy the various programs on offer.”
