Ahead of Chuseok, the Gangneung City (Mayor Kim Joong-nam) Department of Urban Transportation visited “Neul Sarang House,” a welfare facility for people with disabilities, to deliver gifts. On the 23rd, the department also held a shopping event at Jungang Market, contributing to community outreach and the revitalization of traditional markets.
This event was organized to support traditional market vendors and small business owners who are struggling due to the economic downturn and rising prices, and to spread the warmth of generosity throughout the local community in celebration of the Chuseok holiday.
About 100 employees from the City Transportation Bureau participated in the event, purchasing items needed for Chuseok and helping to revitalize traditional markets; they also supported the local business community by dining at nearby restaurants in their respective departments.
Meanwhile, ahead of the grocery shopping event, the City Transportation Bureau visited “Neulsarang House” to deliver care packages and held a meeting with facility staff to listen to their concerns regarding facility operations, sharing a heartwarming moment of giving.
Park Sang-wook, Director of the Urban Transportation Bureau, said, “I hope this event will help revitalize the local economy and serve as an opportunity to extend a warm gesture to the underprivileged.” He added, “We will continue to do our utmost to support economic recovery and ensure the well-being of our citizens so that Gangneung can be a place where everyone is happy.”
