The Taejang 1-dong Residents’ Autonomy Committee (Chairman Yong Young-sik) held the “6th Wonju City Future Village Drawing Contest” awards ceremony on the 19th at the Soil Village Love Flower Garden (2746 Taejang-dong) in Taejang 1-dong.
This contest was organized to allow elementary school students in the district to freely express their views of our town through drawings, thereby fostering their interest in and love for the community. A total of 604 entries were submitted, and 50 outstanding works were selected following a judging process.
At the awards ceremony held that day, certificates were presented to the students whose works were selected as outstanding entries, and time was set aside to congratulate the winners. The winning entries will be on display in the first-floor lobby of Wonju City Hall from September 21 to October 1, and will subsequently be exhibited in the lobby of the Taejang 1-dong Administrative and Welfare Center from October 2 through the end of December.
Yong Young-sik, chair of the Taejang 1-dong Residents’ Autonomy Committee, said, “I hope this drawing contest will serve as an opportunity for children to develop an interest in and a sense of pride in our community,” adding, “We will continue to create opportunities for children to take an interest in the local community and participate in various activities.”
