Gangneung City (Mayor Kim Joong-nam) held a meeting with the Gangneung Branch of the Korea Federation of Arts (hereinafter “Gangneung Federation of Arts”) and its affiliated associations on September 22 in the conference room on the 15th floor of City Hall.
This roundtable discussion was organized to incorporate the firsthand perspectives of artists active in Gangneung’s cultural and arts scene into city administration. The event was attended by Gangneung Mayor Kim Joong-nam, the president of the Gangneung Federation of Arts and Culture, and the heads of 10 affiliated associations, who exchanged views.
Discussions focused primarily on measures to promote local cultural development, such as expanding performance and exhibition spaces in the arts and culture sector.
A city official stated, “Through ongoing communication with the Gangneung Federation of Arts and Culture—the foundation of the region’s arts and culture—and its affiliated associations, we will create an environment where artists can fully showcase their talents.” The official added, “We will actively review the opinions discussed today and incorporate them into Gangneung City’s arts and culture policies.”
